The world changed forever on March 13, 2020, with the difficult announcement of business closures across Canada as a result of the rapidly spreading COVID-19 virus. This overnight change forced many industries to adapt overnight to new restrictions, and to accommodate the well-being of employees and customers.

Many of Rova’s customers were forced to shift large workforces from an office space, to a virtual home environment. With such short notice, and an overwhelming amount of new considerations based on a department’s function, Rova became a key partner to assist in this new radical shift of conducting business.

A year later, as vaccines roll out, and an ending to pandemic restrictions becomes more realistic, Rova is shifting our involvement towards planning for a return to work for many of our customers. Learning from the events surrounding COVID-19, many companies are veering towards making a permanent shift in their work environments. After COVID-19, we are finding that the market requires technology to allow employees to transition between working both remotely and in-office. Companies will now employ a hybrid workforce made up of employees permanently working from home, from the office or a combination.

This permanent shift comes with many benefits, such as opening hiring processes that cover a national versus a local population and lessened commute times that can lead to greater quality of life for employees.

Video Conferencing Room Solutions & AV Integration Are the Future

AV IntegrationWe believe that the post COVID-19 work environment will make video solutions as necessary as the telephone. As a result, we are now working with our customers to determine the video conferencing tools that will enable this new workplace experience. Some of the initial considerations include: considering the size of rooms, integration into existing av systems, and infrastructure such as scheduling systems and network security. Most importantly, Rova strives to provide tech solutions that work for each client’s individual needs.

Ideally, employees should be able to enter a room, log into a desktop consul, and simply start a video conference. Rova strives to eliminate the fuss over sorting wires, plugging laptops into monitors, then gathering employees around a small screen to be captured on camera.
